BMW Z8 Roadster

Designed by Henrik Fisker (who is now with Aston Martin) it is inspired by BMWs classic 507, V8 roadster.

Underneath the all aluminium bodywork is an aluminium space frame chassis and suspension.

The 5-litre, V8 engine produces 400bhp and gives 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds performance. Top speed is limited to 155mph.

All cars were fitted with a 6 speed manual gearbox, except Alpina versions which were automatic and featured detuned engines.

Even the interior is bespoke. No features from other BMW cars are used, which means even the aluminium switchgear is bespoke.

The only downside is the standard-fit run-flat tyres. A tyre change brought about a dramatic improvement in ride quality and driveability.
